Sour smell of wood smoke
seaweed flayed and dried
upon the rocks
those huddled stones
prone and obeisant to the grey sea

And there
a star that is settling
into the indifferent waves
leaving us cold and bereft
soon to be entwined
with the night

But do not despair
We will wake with the dawn
bring the candle of hope
in our hands
and much peace

A solemn and ocean-deep peace
shared
with every sentient being
in time
and every being departed
from time

The moon has its quarters
the sun its seasons
I have only this tenuous grasp
on life
a primal sense of loss and love
and the dull roar of the Pacific
in my ear
Yachats is my favorite little town on the Oregon coast. A good place for existential meditations.

A Division of Mathematics
Adding great value to it
Multiplying its applications
Reducing laborious means

Going on logical steps
Riding on its riders
Gliding on its theorems
Solving hitches and glitches

Assuming things as “x”
Applying rational methods
Adopting sequential steps
Solving problems complex

Starting with assumption
Running through derivation
Following brilliant notion
Deciphering through perception

Grand in concepts
Grand in derivations
Grand in suppositions
Resolving problems in a grand manner

Mother of mathematics
Mother of logics
Cracking all mysteries
By initializing things as “x”

Assuming God as “x”
Following tenets and commandments
Living life on virtues and truth
Surely shall we know what “x” is
And what “I” am and what “V” (we) are
And surely shall we know that
X=I=V is Life’s Algebra.
(when my friend bade me to write a poem on Algebra, this poem rolled out of me in five minutes; i write poems under divine guidance and this is a demonstration of the same)

Tapovan Temple
Full of Grandeur
Grandeur of the Grandest
For grandness of its Sculptures

Awesome and Wondrous
With colours Splendorous
Of fine hues and shades
With brilliant radiance

Full of raptures
Filling to the brim
Filling with light
Reeling you in delight

Shapes and angles
Cuts and symmetry
Geometry and Art
Fuse and flow

Feast to the eyes
Beats to the heart
Treat to the soul
Great Abode

Heaven on earth
Never seen before
The abode of Gods
Abodeless abide

Exquisite carvings
Carvings of brilliance
Brilliance of excellence
For His Excellency Lord

Whoever conceived This,
Whoever carried out This,
Whoever did His Will,
Are Blessed, Blessed, Blessed!!
I visited a Hindu Temple called Tapovan Temples in Baroda, Gujarat, India. It was so amazing in architecture, that I was prompted to write a poem on it.

Lean lanky lad
Encased in a pad
Of all colours and hue

When chopped your top
You peep, peep and pop out
Revealing thy true colours

At the hands of an artist
Thou art an Art
At the hands of a poet
Thou art a Craft

No wonder you are
Mightier than sword
Be it pen or pencil
As you are
When a thought occured to me to write a poem on 'pencil', this poem came out me.

Treading a long way in the life’s trail,
Only to realize all accomplishments are futile.
Came Master in my life then,
Blessing and bestowing true accomplishments,
Of spiritual awakening and
Beholding divine drama in things!
Knowledge of knowledge and
Accomplishment of accomplishments,
I bow unto the holy feet of my Master
For making me aware of greater things of life!
This poem is about my spiritual master whom I met and who changed my life.

Mowing down the notion
That life-less is motionless
Soaring high above and ruling the skies
Giving life-less a new notion of life
O Kite, you deserve to be knighted
For giving a new notion
Of motion to the motionless!!
In my office, as I was looking out of the window, a saw a kite flying. A subtle thought came on kite-flying, and instantly this poem rolled out of me.

To see a sea, I went to sea
And what I saw was unseen;
The sea was seething with seizing waves
That rise and cease in sea;
To see the sea
Seizing and seething
Is a thing of a scene to see.
Seeing the sea and seeing the scene,
I got seized.
As my endeavour to become a poet, this was the first poem written by me.
