Hi there
s Aug 2018
Hi there.
Sometimes it hurts to think.
I'm driving around in my hometown
I saw this old park that me and my friends would run and laugh and play at all the time.
We played cops and robbers
Lava Monster
Freeze tag
We acted like knights in strong armor and princesses with glittery dresses and we all slayed the dragons
Well now here I am staring at this old swing set that no one swings on anymore.
I used to think that I could touch the clouds with my feet if I swung high enough.
There is something so lively about a group of kids laughing and playing on a playground.
There is something so empty and eerie about an old empty playground where no one goes.
That playground used to be so alive.
Now the swing creaks as it sways in the slight breeze.
You can almost hear faint whispers of the kids laughing from years before.
Now all those kids are adults with lives and responsibilities that are much more important than slaying a dragon.
The wood has splinters that get stuck in your fingers.
It is not shiny and fun anymore.
It used to be new
But I have found that everything changes eventually.
I wish people didn't leave so unexpectedly.
Anyways I am just rambling
but next time you see a playground
just try to look away.
it hurts to think too long
Bye.
I am so sad. So many people keep dying

I'll Be There
RBWhite Aug 2018
Will I make you see?
Will you belong to me?
Rest in my embrace,
Feel my need for change,
And I'll be your only place...
Where you'll rest in sleep,
When you come to me,
I'll be whatever you need,
I'll be the fall, catching you from the depths of despair,It won't matter, for whatever it takes,
I'll be there,
I'll be the sadness, the kiss in your tears, mending every fear,
Is my promise to make,
I'll be there,
In the light and the dark,
The warrior of your love, creating truth with my sword,
And I swear, you'll be okay,
Because I'll be there.

you cannot unwalk the bridge you have crossed
you cannot unknow the fresh taste of enlightenment
once you have breathed it in
there is no way back
to an illusory net of safety
take courage
spread your wings
and fly

Sweetly does the rain
Sing against my window,
As it stirs the lavender
That caresses my nose,
Growing beneath my window as
My mother planted it there to do.
Wary do I grow of counting the
Lines,
Groves,
And cracks in my ever changing ceiling.
I try making out images instead of counting, Lacking creativity all I can see is
White,
Frooved
Clouds.

Dusk is capturing the world now and
The rain has finished it’s melody,
The insects and frogs
Take the stage and
Somewhere in the distance
Is the cry of a lone hawk,
Maybe feeling left out of the insects and frogs Choirs as,
He cries
His sad
Song.

Pondering as to what the
Hawk’s story is
And as I ponder
I begin to hum
A soft melody keeping time
With the frogs and insects,
Maybe I am feeling left
Out like the hawk?

A breeze joins in,
String up the glories
Smell of lavender again
And cooling my face as it
Comes through the open window
I slowly drift
Off
To
Sleep...
...zzz

It’s There
L B Aug 2016
It’s there—
in our goodbye
in that last glance back
across the heat reflecting
from the roof
Your car between us
The door is open
and your wounded soul

He’s dead at 21— I know
you loved him

I overdose this moment
Paralyzed
our eyes—

go on forever
His name was Jean.  He died on his 21st  birthday of an accidental overdose.  My daughter 's first love.  She wrote of him recently, "Jean's birthday today....  What a different world without him."

I'm tired of being tired
I've simply had enough of enough

oh this world
              I chase after
but with each step, I run backwards

like a moth to the flame I come back
         and get burned
and come back
       this time scarred
and come back....

oh I am so weary
What is in me I cannot seem to fight?
What is in this worthless world that I cannot stray too far from?

Oh I have had enough
    Here I come again
like a child, head hung in repentance
            begging for forgiveness
Oh Lord, I am so unworthy
   for You alone are Holy

And yet I hear Him say with a father's love,
" Oh, my dear child, come near."

Slowly I come before Him, ashamed of what I've done
but his warm touch on my shoulder has my eyes wander up

"Don't you see that you have no power
to push Me away from you, my dear?
My Son, the One and Only Sacrifice,
the One who bled and died
He will always be Enough. Always.
You heard and you believed
Now the desire for My Will is in your eyes
Although it will be a fight
                     at least on this side
I will always be by you
for it is I you will learn to chase after
and  in Me you will abide

My dear child,
I am
     I am God
Where can you hide that I am not?
Where can you run where My love has not already found you?

My dear child,
do not believe the lies of the devil who is in the flame
you are mine
       nothing will change that for
I am
     I am God
And there is no other"

Isaiah 45:22
*"Turn to me and be saved, all you ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other."
