island poet May 2018
“Moby ****,”  Herman Melville

<•>

~for the lost at sea~

after a year of saltwater absence and abstinence,
return to the island caught between two land forks
surrounded by river-heading flows
bound for the ocean great joining

the Atlantic welcomes the fresh water fools,
bringing with them hopefully, but hopeless gifts of obeisances,
peace-offerings endeavoring to keep their infinite souls

sea accepts them then drowns the
warm newcomers in the unaccustomed
deep cold salinity, which
sometimes erodes
sometimes preserving
their former freshwater cold originality

I’m called to depart my beach shoreline  unarmed,
no kayak, sunfish or glass bottomed boat needed,
walk on water and my toes, ten eyes to see the bottom,
no depth perception limitation,
reading the floor’s topography,
millions of minion’s stories infinite,
many Munch screaming

god’s foot, heavy upon my shoulders,
a daytime travel guide, hired for me,
not a friendly travel companion,  nope,
God a pusher showing off a drug called deep water salvation,
designated for the masses, can handle large parties

my in-camera brain  eyes,
record everything for playback -
the lost and unburied, bone crossword puzzles

walk shore to ship, on soles to souls,
is this my new-summer nature welcome back greeting?

puzzled at the awesomeness of vastness,
conclude this clarification for me of the occluded-deep,
is a stern reminder of my insignificant existence,
my requirement to walk humbly, spare my sin of vanity, and
forgive my trespasses upon the lives of others

perhaps then the infinite of my soul perchance restored,
older visions clarified and future poems
will write themselves
and sea to it my predecessors
be better remembered

Memorial Day 2018
Ylzm  Apr 17
Goodness me!
Ylzm Apr 17
Good heavens!
Good Thursday on a Tuesday?
On a week of Good Friday?
But whatever!
The sun has set, Today is here.
We have eaten, and are ready to go.
Shoes on our feet,
House on our backs;
We have no bread, but thats OK.
We are ready to go.
Scarlet McCall Apr 2018
Lucifer, save us; come up from Hell—
take a good look at the place that we dwell.
You were right all along
to refuse to bow down
to Adam and Eve
and their limitless throng.
And how could you have known that the apple you gave her
would plant seeds of pollution, destruction and terror?
You thought that we’d only use knowledge for good.
I know that you’d take it all back if you could.
Lucifer, we aren't angels like you.
We joined your rebellion, and soon we’ll be through.
Now the recourse from the wreckage that is,
is to bring on the foreshadowed Apocalypse.
So come on, Luci, don’t hesitate:
The Four Horsemen are pacing; why delay Fate.
After the End, there will be a new start,
perhaps without humans; we’ll bow and depart.
This may be a PF re-post but I lost the original and this is what I came up with from memory.

Depart
Jade Lima May 27
I guess it’s time to let the blade take away the torment.
Because there’s no hope for any of this to lie dormant.
People take things way too far, and I’m left with a permanent scar.
Nothing will fix my tainted being and heart.
So I guess it’s time for me to depart.

Devine Redemption
Neen Dec 2016
Lord, I need some devine redemption
Because I move like a heathen through the night
Depart some solemn words of wisdom
Deliver your blessed sacred rite

My god your wrath is so sweet
I am consumed by it's salvation
Let me offer myself to you
And save myself from your damnation

My wickedness will have me burned
I make a covenant to you from this day forth
Enter me and make me clean
Fill me with your righteous seed

Command me down on my knees
I'm praying with my mouth to please
I offer myself as your possession
To use whenever at your discretion

I love my parents so much:
my parents and siblings rock!
We always do stay in touch,
naturally together, we'd talk.

My Daddy is his company's boss.
He does prosper; he rocks in there!
Understanding any profit or loss,
he can clearly make any, being fair.

My Mommy is our housemother,
so she stays inside, to clean!
She flourishes like no other,
always praying, for some scene.

I love my younger siblings as well.
Probably, we shall never depart!
They both thrive, being super swell,
of course, both in my dear heart.

My whole family will cherish to me!
It is SUPER funny that when I had written this on here, I didn't know how many words were in it. When I c&p'ed it in Microsoft Word to check its status, it actually had EXACTLY 100 words, as my other poems do. This one is also in ABAB form as well (except for that nice, last free verse line).
