Previous Life

You were Kripacharya's sister,
Born out of Earth as his twin,
You were unlike the brother,
Shantanu took both of you with him.

In his chariot you were taken,
To the king Shantanu's fort,
There both learnt archery,
Here was that I fell in love with you.

I was bestowed with a boon,
Immortality was needless,
I gave it up for our son,
Aśvatthāma was immortal instead.

I preferred mortality like you.

Present Day**

Just like you even I was reborn,
Love story was to be completed,
Experience makes me extreme,
And you reject me profusely...

Our love remains incomplete.
