So I took my hand,
And at her waist,
Tried to saw her in half.

Did not succeed 'crept to make her laugh
At my silly notional ineptitude,
At my usual lack of "handiness."

Seems in this instance,
Tho I failed, I proved an important principle!
The sum of the parts are greater,
Especially where the tickling is along the
(Mmm what rhymes with greater...ah!)
Your celestial equator.

I do not hate you.
But I wish that I did.

(Maybe it would make this
     aching loneliness
easier to accept
if I understood
why

you were not worth
      the love
                  you lost.)
Come quarter to ten,
sleepyhead, time for bed
with brother close by,
what awaits you up there
at the top of the stairs?

As night unfurls
each step groans
like an old gentleman,
you ask what will greet us
when we’ve scaled this mountain?

A monster, a ghoul
or nothing at all?
Something he says
different from the rest,
a sight quite like no other.

Before the clock strikes bedtime
a marvel for you two
that won't be forgotten,
the oddest thing you've ever seen;
the feast, the beast and one jelly-bean.

Explanation: Another potential third-year dissertation poem for university, focusing on Sylvia Plath and Ted Hughes. This Sylvia piece relates to a childhood event - along with her brother Warren, come night-time when the two of them were young, they would imagine what would greet them at the top of the stairs. One evening when Plath asked what they would find, Warren stated 'a feast, and a beast ,and a jelly-bean!' They both laughed at this, and the saying stayed among her family for years. The saying is also mentioned in Sylvia's journals.

odd word, then
basking..
it overwhelms so...

1.
no easy answer
assuredly, no easy answer

2.
so much of calamity on the shores of light
hardly surprising
poor visibility

3.
if only..
if only......
if ONLY........

oh, if we could step out.. into space
and *really
see our beautiful globe
look at the wide oceans make up its ironic three-quarter
its lovely, blue smile
look at the earth in wonder
the earth with no border (nor **** boundary!!)

oh, how humbling

how I fall to knees
at that glorious sight of grace
fills the soul and feeds the core

yet
all I'm left with..
is

basking in glow of uncertain times

star toucher 64..                 4 sept

*(in hope yet.. I persevere sanity prevails us all)
i have nothing to say... after all, who am i?
oh, just a regular human bean, is all :/

sub-entry: TWO QUOTES

“You can walk around this culture now, as a proud supporter of the so called anti-war movement and it's made up of a lot of people I used to know …
I'd like for them to be asked more often than they are, if your advice had been taken over the last 15 or so years; Slobodan Milosevic would still be the dictator of not just Serbia but also of a cleansed and ruined Bosnia and Kosovo. Saddam Hussein would still be the owner of Kuwait as well as Iraq, he would of nearly have doubled his holding of the worlds oil. The Taliban would still be in charge of Afghanistan.
Don't you feel a little reproach to your so called high principle anti-war policy? Would that really have led to less violence, less cruelty?”
― Christopher Hitchens

“We'll fight back, we'll fight back, we'll fight back," a man near Doctor Stockstill was chanting. Stockstill looked at him in astonishment, wondering who he would fight back against. Things were falling on them; did the man intend to fall back upward into the sky in some sort of revenge?”
― Philip K. ****, Dr. Bloodmoney

Long time coming

When I get here, don't ever ask me to leave.
I'm not saying I won't ever leave just that I can make up my own mind
and I've been a long time coming
and you can pack my bags for me if that's what you want,
I was never one for folding,
for folding,
for folding creases,
for creasing folds down the middle like I was waiting to be split in two,
I am waiting for you to split me in two,
split me in two,
split me in two,
cut me in half and all you will find are mirrors.
Your face staring back at you. Jagged edges so I could feel you from the inside out,
feel you,
feel you,
finally feel you.
I've been knocking at your door,
staring through your windows every time I had your door shut in my face,
knocking on your walls,
knocking,
knocking down your walls,
cracking your safe so that you know
when the sky seems like the most solid thing around you,
that you are always a porch light.
You are a struck match, a roaring flame and I am orange, fully open,
I can always be your accident.
You are the oldest thing in the universe made new for me,
a lens,
my left hand,
my right hand,
my arms, clutching hold of my wrists
so I can feel your heartbeat in my fingers,
your pulse a busker, singing only for me when the clocks have stopped and the lights turned out
and we've been waiting at this door for too long.
And I'm just stuck at my boarding gate,
halfway across the world and you're still dragging behind
like it's all too fast
and all I can tell myself is that I would always drown in you.
I will always choke on your words so I can taste them in my mouth,
taste you in my mouth, like a warzone,
taste everything you've ever said, ever been.
I will make up my own mind. I will keep you in mind.
Keep me in your mind like a cemetery.
I'm a long time coming.
