Ice cream
I scream coldness
Milky way
Dairy
I saw a fairy playing around my tongue
I hung my hand around the couch
I stood still,
Watched my spirit unchanged
Back to a little innocent child
The young Kgothatso
The one that walked 5 miles just to see where the rainbow ends
Me the young me
The adorable Kgothatso
Ice cream
I scream beauty
Words and scent
Ice cream
Fairy dusts in my tongue
Dairy products in my stomach
Ice cream
Adorable, I wrote this poem so hungry! I wasn't even licking no ice cream!
I want to live the kind of life
that looks gorgeous
in a rear view mirror.
A life riddled regretless--
full of curves and edgy paths
that I chose to leave behind.
If by chance I miss my turn
while reliving what's passed,
let them canonize me
the patron saint
of the wanderlust--
spelling out blessings
for the bored and anchored
with every speck
of my kicked up dust.

No room for negative thought
when lungs swell
with salt air
and the sea stares
right back
with its millions
of glittery telling eyes.
Between smacks and crashes,
without a word
in its quiet calm,
it shows me just how small
my problems
truly are.

Picked from a high shelf; me,
no stranger to quiet and dust.
Examine my spine
before you crack it.
Part my pages to
finger my words.
Messages and meanings
ravenously devoured—
syllables and syntax,
contentedly noshed.
Happy to have something
to hold; me,
just happy to be held.
Yet, no place was marked
when you snapped me shut
without warning or regard.
Back to the shelf I went,
unfinished and untold—
into the familiar dust; me,
never knowing just
how I end.

Sarah
Do you think that there are others
Who've also met lifetimes ago
who continue to find each other
over
and over
and over again
Throughout the courses of their lives

Teach and grow and mold and flow
Piecing fleeting moments together
In order to create a reality
That is altogether ours entirely

Existentialism and bourbon on Saturday
Pancakes and prayer filled Sunday mornings
We'll hold church between my thighs and remember what it's like
To believe in something other than God.
What golden hearts
seek other souls of gold
What gentle tears roll down from
weeping eyes of red
For escaping hearts
run against the gauntlet from the past
a trodden road that lingers on to ever last
In sadness rendered, comes the twilight from
the dim
to feel the freedom of brightness light within
Comes the brightness your smiling eyes reveal
a radiant countenance of warming flesh and not of steel
What cherished thoughts
I lay them at your feet
your accepting love
and searching eyes so dearly sweet
It's you and me my radiant dove,
illuminating
a sparkling brightness
of our love...

Waters pour
From clouds on high
Restoring life
To a world so dry

I long to be reborn
Like the grass and grain
So I kick off my shoes
To dance with the rain
My demons don't like
the food that I eat.
They taunt me, sending me
running to the bathroom in defeat.

You are not worthy, they say
as I bow at their request.
That food was no good.
now the toilet bowl is my only rest.

My heart breaks, slowly
and pained tears begin to fall.
I have nothing left to give, I say,
I've already given you my all.

I stand and try without success
to wipe my steady tears away.
Looking in the mirror at my swollen eyes
I remind myself tomorrow is a new day.
