Burnt to coal, wrought  and engraved in the flames,

Hardened in the ticking clock of all time,

The fire ignited by perilous aims,

Ashes laying collecting dust and grime,

Its cooling into solid hardened ice

In the desolate, frigid, windswept, planes.

Cruelly spurned by the role of his life's dice,

Impervious to another's sharp pains,

He seeks to warm his own frozen stone heart.

Unhindered by the normal moral qualms

That beat upon those who posses a heart.

From his **** drenched are his ****** palms.

His heart has long since ceased to beat.

He roams the shadows, silent, discreet.
A sonnet about a murderer.

And you scratch and you claw,
But you cannot change it;
Everything has a flaw.

If only to find it,
To fix it, you yearn.
Somehow to restore it,
The passion just burns.

And when you think back
Some time or another
You forgot why it vexed you
Just the hurting, recovered.

But on it comes again,
A swell so large, overbearing, overwhelming,
It knocks you down hard.

Oh the burning
And oh the desire
To quench to put out
The raging fire.

Your hands start to shake.
Your knees start to tremble.
Your mind leaves you senseless,
You no longer resemble

Yourself, your a beast,
a monster, a fiend,
You look out on the world
As it twirls serene.

So much to decide.
So much to take in.
It  must bend to your forces
And make you fit in.

But why try to fit in
When no others except you?
You know you are right
Why let it  effect you?

You turn and answer in an icy growl,
“Its not for me to change,
Its for them to bow down.”

Ah there is the reason you are pained so.
You wish to just always be right,
Never grow.

I know your passion,
The burning desire.
It coursed through my veins,
I too breathed the fire.

When finally you accepted it,
When finally you realize
Your rage  has no effect
But to bring you your demise.

The rage will die down
But still smolder on.
The passion, the fury,
Will still play their song.

Control is the answer,
Is what you seek.
Control of yourself;
You must first conquer the weak.

The anger will burn
Still down in your soul,
But the pain and the sadness
Will release their firm hold.

What is the answer?

Well truth betold

The more thats known

The quicker all the lies unfold.

Nothing can be proven true

By the likes of either me or you.

We all have our parts to play.

Our own agendas bar our way.

The mystery will never end

While everyone has

Leverage with which to bend.

Another's will ****** upon them

To ensure their role within the bargain.

They fruitlessly try to shift the fate

Which belongs to them or their compatriots.

For what purpose may we ask?

Sacrifice for a lasting love?

Leave themselves to martyrdom?

Whether they may win or lose,

And whether they may live or die,

What is truth and what is lies?

A word whispered

A thought pushing out

When should I say it

Or speak it out loud?

Is it worth the effort

This one thought

Ushered forth by my soul?

Should I or should I not

Speak my mind?

What path to take

When so many choices lie in our wake?

What brought us here

To this very spot?

Where whether or not

We can distinguish from

Right or wrong.

The choice we make

Is the path we take

Although we make a

Gain or loss

The toss of a coin

A random thought

May shift our fate forever

With so many paths

Where will we meet our last

And come to a deadening end.

The world's injustice flattens you down,
Your trapped, stuck,
There is no way around.

They all say “it'll be okay!”
But what do they really mean?
They say in time that  “you'll be fine!”
But thats not what it seems . . .

You'll hide it away,
Forgotten you say,
Till someone touches on the scar.

And free at last,
The tears will stream fast,
And you force them back down your throat,

I'm sorry my friend, but,
Not all pain mends.
