Ja
I stared out the window
My brain, completely disengaged
No thoughts, no emotions
But a war was being waged

I could not move or even think
Stood lifeless, as I gazed
But, inside my brain
This awful darkness blazed

Outside the window, light
It seemed so warm and pure
Still, inside my head
A madness did me lure

I could not raise my voice
Could not, say a word
That evil’s lock on me
Seemed to be assured

But then an angel’s voice
So sweetly to me said
Come with me my dear
And let us go to bed
BOEMS BY JA 583
FOR MY WIFE
Returning is certain.
One way, one day
Lifetimes within lifetimes
Transcend, one into
Another.
Eyes smile in recognition as
Adios will always
bring you home.

a grey dove now coos
on the deep cream painted fence
neath a light cloud sky
Could my words describe a familiar place
A feeling of love or a bitter taste
Or do they echo through time as an endless rhyme
Never stopping to unravel, leaving naught behind

Perhaps they’re merely spoken out of such demise
An incoherent babble of a madman sublime
Should they speak of rage as of life in a cage
I have written of hate, such a shocking page

Yet I would that my words could somehow describe
The part of me I tend to hide
And so you may know I am somebody else
Than the person you see when you look in yourself

One of my first poems

She wrote me
and my memory
cannot write her off.
Ma ; 23 years and still counting
Eyes shining in the dark
Like the moon reflecting on the sea
You had a fire in your heart
That ignited in a spark
burning into me

Here’s me wishing the moment would last forever
Tomorrow comes
Day dawns
And it’s only a slight memory

Here’s me stuck in your world of dreams
Your wanting me to please
But I just want to leave
I’m yearning to be free

The big man upstairs
Once and for all
Disabused me of the notion
That he was in fact
God himself

And just my landlord
Living on the top floor
Yelling at me
Through the wall
That my rent is overdue
BLT's new challenge- to write a poem using the Merriam- Webster word of the day, disabuse.
When you been hurt
So many times.
Your reply to it
I’m use to it.
It was my idiocy
that saved me!
