On a ship
I pretend to be
peter pan, jousting
flying, planning
to never
land

Walking downtown
I pretend to be
a building
sure
that actually
reflects
my culture

In the forest
I pretend to be
a dinosaur
roar
see the meteor
but still enjoy
the scenery

I'm at a party
I pretend to be
myself.
A common wetness
we might see, if
congress swept down
and licked the day
from nearby courts in trees
passing laws like winged prostitutes

It started with an itch
something so mild and unexpected
barely brought into existence, yet there
once acquainted to its surroundings
it slowly grew into a being
it was selfish, demanding
this creature knew only hunger
its own desire fueling its every action
pushing and pulling at everything
screaming and crying out so loudly
it was the only thing that was heard
finally receiving the attention
that it longed for
then...
it vanished

no sooner than it had taken
for it to become something,

it then fades into nothing.
Forgotten.
I keep earnestly asking the flowers…
desperately,
ripping away,
                           each petal,
saying the magic words
Again.
and
Again.
eventually receiving the outcome
that I long for,
waiting for something,
                                     anything.
to change.
believing that everything will happen
(just as the flowers have said)
knowing.
that
                         no matter
how hard
               I try.
Always in the back of my mind,
the unescapable ,
Truth.
HE LOVES ME NOT.
and so,
I keep earnestly asking the flowers.
Both* the apple and your lips were *poison
Your mouth tainted with the forbidden fruit.

But I wanted you
I wasn't unsuspecting.

you were the snake
everyone knew you were the villain.

And that is why I kissed you
and took your deadly gift.
As I walk through the battlefeild of hate
Bleeding every step of the way
I remember the reason why I fight
The reason why I must return home

As the blood gushes out of my open wounds
My strength never dwindle beyond my reach
I crawl in pain making my way
Just to live another day

As I watch my comrades fall to the ground
My fears grew stronger
And my pride lit the night,
I'm coming home...that I do swear

I made a promise
One that I plan to keep
I will not die here
Not as long as my heart beats

You wait for me at home
And I will see you soon
My love of my life...stay strong my dear
For me...please...I will end this here

— The End —
