When someone asks me
"Who inspires you?"

I think to myself
"What a silly question."

It is not only famous, accomplished people that inspire me,
which is what they would expect as an answer.

its
the stars
the grass
the boy who smiled
the mother picking up a hurt child
the leaves turning brilliant colours in the fall
the young woman who wasn't afraid to tell her story
the old man who felt the spark of persistence
the happiness of the simple pleasures
the smell of laundry
the living mud
the moon

The millions of great people not recognized for their outstanding feats,
but that's okay.

As one of my favourite authors put it when speaking about people who had drive, dreams, inspiration, and grit

**"Great men and great women--
Some famous,
most not..."
- The book where the quote is from is Dream by Susan V. Bosak. It is a picture book, but it's for any age, and tells a wonderful story.

Picked up when wanted
Dropped when bored
Just for your pleasure
And then
                                                                                                                  *ignored
you play God
  manipulating variables
     eliminating constants
making a mess of simple equations

paper floods with ink
-mistakes that will eventually lead to a solution
but it's the journey that matters,
                                                         right?
the reminder of why you hate math...
*it makes too much sense to comprehend
I was born to weigh heavy on your mind
my umbilical was lyrical live feed
inception was the spark
I been latent for too long
cruisin like Noah's ark
but I never chucked the deuces
just been patiently waiting to find my muses
next generation wake up
I heard they raised the stakes up
you feel the pressure
benchmarks been set
barometers there to measure
your progress
ingress
degression
can you feel it
expectations by the pound
you're drowning but is it real yet
concealed tech
he's got death at his hands
the sad part
lil' homie don't even understand
that a bullet's finality
teen homicide has become a normality
I'm on this verse tryna defy a mentality
I hope you heard
tryna defy a mentality
Life goes on
each breaking dawn is a bittersweet symphony
each crowning dusk reveals what we were meant to be
each passing day is another passing chance
so be sure to make a mess
and leave a stain on history
If you have netflix you should watch It's Such A Beautiful Day!
