she was a poet,
and he was her pen.
in him,
she always found words to write,
songs to sing,
thoughts to think.

he'd smile,
and kiss her softly,
and say,
"write me a poem."

and she would.
she'd put poe,
and whitman,
and shakespeare to shame,
and she'd write a poem that made his eyes water.

she'd compare him
to a rose with no thorns,
a book with no end,
a world with no poverty --
the things we all wish for,
but can never attain.

//

he asked her one day,
"what am i?"
and so she picked up her pen,
and began the usual:
you are the shining sun after a hurricane,
with rays that open the eyes of the blind.

but he stopped her after those two lines,
and said that this time,
he didn't want any metaphors,
or similes,
or analogies.
he wanted the truth.

and so on that night,
as he slept,
the poet picked up her pen,
and she wrote.

she wrote,
then thought better of it,
then started over again,
and this cycle continued well into the early hours of the morning,
until suddenly,
she wrote, frantic,
if i can't love you for what you really are,
have i ever really loved you at all?

this, too,
she thought better of,
condemning it to the trash.

the next morning the poet was gone,
her final work a mere two words:

i'm sorry.

this is more of a story than a poem but i like how it came out so leave thoughts & comments please
He is just a simple man
but full of wisdom and honor
She is just an ordinary woman
but full of love and candor

He comes like the light rain
so sweet to the soul
When she smiles to hide the pain
He heals it up all

He talks with so much insights
like a book that she reads
His words come like sunlight
in her world that she needs

He dreams of his light forever
She wishes for hers to come true
They hope they could be together
to finally say "I do".
He is her angel; she is his light.
Just give me a reason to keep my heart beating...
Hey guys. I'm new here. Got introduced by a friend that goes by the name of "Kiyuki Ishida" on this site.
Check his stuff out btw
and i believe you may **** me
with soft blue eyes.
you'll press your love into my
heart with a sword,
and kiss the blood off.
and i have a feeling i won't last long
if you keep telling me how much you care.
i know i will pass away if you keep
crying over my pain.
i don't know how to love you,
and i will get lost in the storm.
but i am ready to lose my life
to your love.
a poison has never been so gorgeous.
so merciful.
the title angel of death
doesn't fit,
you are more.
and yet, you are nothing
as i take my

I will fall when this earth
falls
around me like ashen mist.
I'm no pacifist, but these words,
they make me want to build bridges
not burn them.
When the clock strikes the final hour
and the chime sounds
down the bell tower,
I will know the right thing to do
and it will not be to run or cower.
You keep saying things like sweet and salty
Can you really taste this life
Will you take me out in the morning
I imagine you, waking up in a white room
White sheets, t’s and p’s
I can see you smiling as you stare out your window
Onto a thumb green forest, deep under cover, snow
Hermione taught me,
Never dumb down.
Prim whispered,
It's Okay to fall down.
Ginny smiled,
Don't stop loving, He'll come around.

Katniss screamed,
Seize the fire.
The doctor whispered,
Rose Tyler-

Haymitch scorned,
The people need to be raised!
Snape replied,
Always.

Okay, so we conflict.
Our thoughts fight.
But whichever fandom we follow,
As a fangirl, we unite.
Books have been the reason of many people's survival, today. So, as a fangirl, here's a tribute to books.
