Water crept up on the rocks
Soaking our already damp shoes
Seeping into our socks
we throw them off not much to lose
The water crashes onto our skin
Shocking them with a biting cold
And we can't help but grin
The warm air suffocating us
We take the plunge
And without a fuss
and soak it up like a sponge
The water so cold and clean
And warm laughter pierces the air
Its so serene
and we don't have a care.

You walk around
Like you own this town.
With that rebellious look in your eye
and your cap turned to the side.
With a cigar on your lips and a bottle in your hand,
you want to be the man.
You once told me it was all an act.
I think you just wanted to see how I'd react.
But I knew all alone it wasn't true.
The person you show the world just isn't you.
What you've never figured out was that I didn't even like that him.
I saw what was within.
That's who I wanted.
That's why I'm haunted.
That's who I can't get over.

When the Devil and the Angel dance,
the world doesn't stand a chance.
They waltz and move, each step more graceful than the last.
There was a powerful beauty in the red and white contrast.
His hand grasped her waist,
and he watched the heavenly way her body moved--but the Devil made a mistake.
He looked up from her body and into her face.
At that moment, Heaven, Earth, and Hell collided and crashed,
the brightest lightening flashed.
He looked into her eyes--the lightest shade of brown,
and he was no longer ****** to Hell.
To the devil he once was, he said farewell.
The Angel, the way she danced just for him--so peaceful.
The Devil fell in love with the Angel,
During the dance that neither Heaven nor Hell would ever forget.

Grace

Grace: a trait not often associated with me.
Tis a name I have grown to love,
But a woman, a life I will never know.

My history is incomplete--missing
and I try to fill that vacant piece through stories and photographs.
Still, I would give anything to hear your laugh.
There is this whole time, this whole family,
but I was just a baby.

I've spent forever wishing to be a part of the days they held so dear,
and wondering how things would be if you were still here.
I see how much it hurts them that you are gone.
They truly miss the days of the swan.

We sit and laugh as they grace me with tales of the past--
the family and lives they once had.
I hope I would have made you proud
Sometimes I pray to you just so loud.

I know you are there guiding us all
So please, when we fall,
help us back to grace
with one last embrace.

You say,
I'm not,
A keeper.
No,
I just escaped,
Your trap.
You say,
I'll always,
Leave her,
Please,
Just cut,
The crap.
I escaped,
The bear,
Claw,
By gnawing,
Off,
My leg.
Breaking,
All the,
Laws,
You forced,
Me,
To say.
I hopped,
Away,
Alone,
With no,
Hope for,
This stray.
Bleeding,
To,
The bone,
Going out,
Of my,
Own way.
Pain,
Stricken,
Face,
Sweat,
Down to,
My chin.
My shadow,
Asked for,
A race,
And I,
Let him,
Win.
I fell,
Face,
First,
Into,
A pile,
Of past.
Seethed,
Through the,
Worst,
For a,
Love that,
Will last.
I hate MCAS.

I hope that next year
you talk to your girl
about last years girl
and how crazy she was
and you make her feel so special
by telling her she's better
than last years girl,
like you told me
about last time's girl
and how crazy she was
and how you made me feel so special
by telling me I'm better
than last time's girl,
like how you probably told last time's girl
about how crazy last season's girl was
and you made her feel special
by telling her she's better
than last season's girl.
