What in you is not yours? Whose is it?
My anxiety
It belonged to my mother and now it belongs to me
A heavy anchor I never asked to carry
Never understood her worry when I was young
Until I inherited it and now understand her overprotective tendencies
I hope I don't pass it along to my children if I ever conceive
It's an unwelcome burden
shy marsh
