I e x p l o d e from the ground--
frenzied-- after so *******
     long, screaming, "I am back!"
So long of being lost, never to be found

between      bodies, crammed
into a coffin, left in world of grays and blacks

no more, No More, NO MORE!
Life has returned--blood in my veins
The Phoenix within burns so bright
to burn away old hate and gore
left lingering on the skin--in my brain
I shake off the dirt and step into the l i g h t

I am the Revenant, and I heed no Reaper
Eternities, internalized, as I feel Death die
Postmortem pleas, cast back to the grave
Eyes wide open--I'm not going back to sleep
You won't be taking me back alive--
no!--because I am not your slave!
