I say that I'm fine,
But truly, I'm not,
Haven't you seen the scars,
Hidden under my sleeves?

Haven't you ever wondered,
Why I wear coats in summer,
Why I cover every inch of skin,
When it's a hundred degrees?

You believe I'm fine,
And I appreciate it, I do,
For it means I'm getting better,
At hiding the truth.

These lies emerge, when all I want is to tear,
This mask off my face,
These sleeves off my wrist,
And tell you outright that I'm not fine
