Finally*, after 29 years
"
I love you" sputtered from your lips
like a flame being deprived of oxygen *flickers
,
just moments before darkness consumes its light

The words slithered from throat to mouth
then dripped from your tongue
seeking refuge in our silence

Your words, posing more riddle than *resolution
A poem about the moment my biological father claimed me finally as his son, and told me he loved me.
