Feather painted with gray
by the unlicensed hand of her lover.
She’s the beauty beyond
as his eyes stared longingly at her.
But she’s weary of the gray
and scared of his glare.
Still he painted until
the other colors decayed away.
"Ah, you were so happy, honey,
I just had to give you a little misery.”
And she never turned blue
ever again.
