If I compress you
into witty lines
maybe I'll feel better,
If I could take back
the bonfire smell
and whiskey cokes
I might,

If I could lie and say
that you weren't the
only one to grow
roots in my mind
I would,

The hometown blood
runs deep and the
dance we did was
a path too steep
to stay in your keep
for the rest of time.
AshleyKay2014 The last words, I put it into a poem and I am able to be at peace with this.
