Feb 2014
I strode quickly
just below the ridge line,
moving inside shadows
I hid myself amongst
the jagged rocks
in a camo-perch,
outside the glare of the sun.

It was a race against time,
intel had reported
the primary target
had been spotted,
he was moving this way.

If God was on our side,
we were in luck.
If he wasn't,
I was ******.
But I'm here to tell the story,
& he isn't.
Take my word for it,
he's gone,
he's never coming back &
his ghost still haunts me.

[I pray to God for
some deliverance,
wishing he'd been
on the other side that day.....
Well, maybe not,
I'm livin' for today!]
