Hardships are a funny thing.

Not funny as in "ha ha"
Or as in "weird"

I mean as something
I have always had
That not everyone else
Has always had.

It's like when you meet someone
From a whole different culture
And they have these weird customs
That you're unfamiliar with.

I've always had extreme money issues in my home
And my parents always fighting
And broken down things
And countless other bad things

But then I make a friend
Go to their house,
And see them have
A completely happy family.

No money issues
No fighting
Everything in perfect working order
And countless other good things

And I'm amazed
I never knew
People could ever
Be like that.

It's crazy.
