A desert flower
diamond in the rough
warms a place
in my heart
strengthen the bond
over years to come
keeping the flame
from burning out

Lessons taught
and lessons learned
over time
the path does curve
to bring you slowly
face to face
understanding the value
of time and place

To share a place
and some time
remove the shades
from your eyes
open now
for you to see
a lonesome dove
floats so free
