When frost comes fast on new buds of spring
when birds decline in morning winds
and the bite of winter still claims to fight
when the day beats the night in the balance of light

When brittle makes it last pure cold demise
when all it's follies fall from it's eyes
it is just a testing time
might an experiment of kind

When brittle comes apart in old age
are you wise enough to be a sage
barely are you hanging on
as the reapers cold blade, does close in

Time to kneel, time to heal
time to say farewell dear world
time to say you did love
time for home above

For we are brittle
dainty and little
goodbye body of man
for we are truly brittle
