Darling, I am a love-drunk poet.
And I am thirsty for your lips so warm
Sober me with your touch of heaven
And I'll speak to you words of eternal.

I am a collision of fear and excitement
The union of the night's cloak and the sun's brim.
But love, you shall be the dawn of the evening
The only sunset that sets the cold night dim.

I am a rain on a summer day
For I am bleak from the shades of your beauty
Oh please, let all the light gleam on me
Should this be all but a dreamer's fantasy?
