Not Good Enough

Creeping through the shadows

Sneaking up on me

A broken sort of happiness

Love, we aren't meant to be

I know we always thought

It would be you and me

But clearly we were mistaken

Love, you're hurting me

Holding on to this hope

Like you think it could be

We're over, I told you

Love, stop clinging so desperately

A perverse sort of joy

Has spread through me

Now I'm free of you

Love, you can't catch me

Love? Ha!

Who am I kidding?

Good riddance, I say

You were never good enough for me.
