Never Satisfied

It's been this way from the beginning

Looking for that happy ending

Before we've taken our first step

We make it all about ourselves

We could care less about the middle

It really is that simple

If we could sort through all the daily lies

We'd find we're never satisfied

Starting at the days of Eden

And the paradise they'd soon be leaving

Somehow, they felt there was more

Not sure what they were hoping for

We listen to the snakes more than we should

Learn from our mistakes, if we only could

20/20 is how we visualize hindsight

Yet still struggle to see we're never satisfied

The flaw runs deep in ourselves

On the who, what, where, and when, we've lost count

Always on the take, taking another chance

That this time is better than the last

The thrill is good as gone the moment it's used

We'd sell our souls for a song if it were new

Bringing us back to the line where again we find

We are never satisfied
