Letting Go

There are dark emotions fluttering in my soul

that no amount of light can ever cover.

A clutchful of fears claiming night deeper

than the stars of heaven ever can;

There are feelings entering my wake zone

ushering me towards a solid stroke of four.

Pilfering the hours of sleep I beg for,

I wait, ... by heaven's secret door.

There are nights such as these, where

sleep is a stranger that I cannot find.

A clutchful of fear, morning draws near

I am letting go of all that is most dear..
