The Wicked One

If loving you is a felony,

I would gladly be the villain.

Let them write my name in the ledger of the lost.

I can be the apocalypse, I will be the enemy.

For I would break every rule they ever made,

Just to keep the promise of your smile.

They will speak of right and wrong in quiet rooms.

Building walls out of safe intentions.

But safety is a shadow compared to your light,

And innocence is a luxury I will happily surrender.

If the world calls this a sin,

Then I have no desire to be redeemed.

So let them lock the gates and seal the verdict

I’ve already signed my ultimate confession.

Let the world keep its orderly, flawless peace.

While I choose the beautiful chaos of you.

If loving you makes me the vile one,

Then let me serve my sentence in your arms.
