lucid dreams

between nightmares and daydreams

the day begins again

the horizon a glow with sunbeams

as the birds bask in them

a moment of glory for all to see

I can feel it in the ether

like it's reaching out to me

maybe an angel or a reaper

telling me to get up now

and face morning sun

I know somehow

my nightmares will succumb

and clear all confusion

about what should and shouldn't be

there'll be an execution

of the demons inside of me

and I will go about my way

and be warmed by the light

it's a new me on a new day

conquering the night
