Root of my words

Farming for words

break the soil loosen the earth

water the seeds

nurture the emotions behind

framing the idea

rewrite the notion

feel something else entire

sweat breaking on the brow

sunlight hammer on my soul

Farming with my basket

of wicked and lovely thoughts

capture sunlight on paper

but it's too dull

so I try rain but my tears are dry

So I leave you here

on scribbled page

while I chase the day
