lack of empathy

Doing the bare minimum

without care or ethic

so self serving & pathetic

Here on one mission

lack of determination

a display of unfavorable submission

Leading their way with bad intentions

oblivious of all their reckless rendition

little effort portrayed- rooted from a broken system

Seeking solid foundations

yearning for better understanding

finding we're run ragged from an institution so demanding

Silver linings of grey areas set us as ease

self destructive as we aim to rise above

pleasing all around- while we fail to serve ourselves

Everyday is new- as we tightening our loose screws

clinging onto pieces of ourself

avoiding coming unglued

running at all the chaos with broken parts- holding onto it so hard

With nothing else to lose- lack of empathy in understanding of the truth

seizing the day- leaving the soul internally bruised.
