Desperate times

There was a time where I was desperate

Desperate to prove that I could be desired

That it was an option for me

I found someone to prove my thesis

And got blinded thinking it was all about the boy

Thinking that he was my savior

I got clingy

I didn't want to loose this anomaly

Because surely that was all it was,

an anomaly

So I clung to him not realizing

That feeling I wanted was a part of me

Not him

Me letting myself be seen instead of skulking in the shadows

Me grabbing my own power

He was nothing but the first

And oh, how he pales compared to the last
