Fighting for three days —
we’ve never been this way.
I’m channeling the pain
in every word I say.

I know now what you meant.
But now you’re in my head,
a ghost I can’t forget —
the way that it hurts.

Silence is the pillow
on the bed of better days.
I rummage through the dresser,
full of all our yesterdays.

I wonder if you’ll miss me
when I’m gone — so gone.
But still,
you’re egging me on.
Tell me,
why are you egging me on?

Do you want to be more strong?
Look into the glass of me
and tell me what you see.

You are a human being.
We’re just two human beings.

And now,
I’m leaving.
