I longed for someone
not just to be there,
but to stay.

For once—
I thought I found her.
You promised you’d always be
where you said you’d be,
where I could find you.

Then the storm came.

I went to that place
—the one we promised.

But you were gone.

I told myself:
maybe you lost your way,
maybe you just needed time.
You said you were coming.

So I waited.

And waited.

I held on to that promise
like it was the only thing
keeping me afloat.

Time passed.
Long enough for hope
to turn to fear.

Still, I said—
come when you can.
As long as you come,
I’ll still be here.

You agreed.

Then quietly,
you told me
you were never on your way.
