transparency: slipping wishes
from blesséd tongue to ear;
the words - so tender -
a crisp and hopeless fear;
a grieving month passes and the burnt-earth
debris yields a calloused tear.

translucence: slipping paper
underneath a bedroom door;
the words -  still sinking -
sinking in the bedroom floor;
a weeping hour passes and the blood-red
stains creep downward ever-more.

opaqueness: slipping chanson
through a window shuttered tight;
the words - still silent -
crying out with all their might;
a trembling minute passes and the beryl-water
depths plunge a heart without a fight.
