Song by Mary Timony (2024)

Check the situation. Is it cruel or is it kind?
Do you wander in the desert, trying to find time
The white flags above us, fly on our doubt
Time to meet the mountain,
there's no other way out
Brand-new day, it still hurts like hell
You said nothing like there was nothing to tell
Now the dead leaves are blowin,' around in my mind
We only know this one life at a time
We built this castle from sticks that we found
In an abandoned graveyard on sacred ground
Then the cold moon was rising, but I didn't know
There was a cross on your life-line,
and you had somewhere to go
So, I'll travel on now, down the shifting road
Nothing to stay for, so I'll stay no more
Now I want to feel like I've never felt before
The sun on my face, through an open door
We're moving on now, never stayed too long
Let the sun shine on every thing that's wrong
I still want to know what I've really never known
We wandered through the garden,
don't want to wander alone
