4AM

The mind cracks in half,

Spreads thick

Like egg yolks

On granite

Viscose

Slow

Moving

Enveloping

- Bursting -

Here fears,

here doubts

And there, there the yearnings

Eyes splinter -

Flutter like butterflies

In flight,

Greet dawn

And there - hunger strikes,

The eagerness

To feast on skin,

To lap at the salty brine

Of your humanness,

A need for thighs

Gripping

At my jaw line

The moon tucks herself away

Behind light,

And sky meets day

And I, Pavlov’s dog -

Salivating

Alone in bed
