In shadows deep where echoes tread,
I wandered once, when I was dead.
No breath to draw, no heart to beat,
In silence vast, I roamed the streets.

The world above, it seemed so far,
A fleeting dream, a distant star.
I touched the veil where light had fled,
A ghostly whisper in my head.

The colors bled to shades of gray,
And time itself began to sway.
In that great void, where whispers rest,
I searched for peace, but found unrest.

Yet even in that silent space,
A fleeting warmth, a gentle grace.
For in the dark, I saw a spark,
A memory's light to leave a mark.

Though once I was beyond the veil,
I learned that even ghosts can sail.
Through realms of thought and dreams instead,
The living light when I was dead
