The hurricane hits me.
Hard.
Overpowering winds
Knock me down
As though I am made of paper.
The hurricane hits me.
Loud.
My words are useless
As the rain drowns out
My cries for help.
The hurricane hits me.
Cold.
I am left alone
To fight against
The harsh ways of the disaster.
The hurricane hits me.
Sorrow.
I am surrounded by the damage.
But no amount of rain
Can wash away my
Thoughts and feelings.
Just as I heal from the hurricane,
Another one hits me.
Hard,
Loud,
And cold.
