We are both exiled angels
Heaven a bit too holy for the likes of us
Cast out, we fell into one another
Our best chance for survival
and the most wonderful accident
Breathing out our final words
as we plummet to the surface
Waiting for the ground to catch us
But it never came
Wings caught wind
and we baked in the sun
Skin turned red as the orchards
And you laughed all the while
