As tears swelled my eyes,
Fell down my cheeks,
And onto my lips,
I tasted them.
Were my tears of sorrow and great pain,
Or were they of joy and relief.
I tasted them again and again,
Certainly they were salty with a tinge of sweetness,
They were tears of solace and unspoken happiness,
Not from the pain of the heart,
But of thank God sigh that my boyfriend had left me,
For he had no value of me.
