She lies there oblivious to her surroundings
the only thing she knows is hurt.
She has yet to have felt the best emotion of all
Love.
She is swimming in grief and pain
but yet she won't let it show to others.
She lies there oblivious to her surroundings
while she slides the hot steel knife
deep into her skin.
The bite of the metal calms her
relaxes her.
She does this to force her pain elsewhere
but all it does is show the wounds
no one thought was there.
This was inspired by the book Willow by Julia Hoban.
