Growing up has taught me
The kind of man I’m meant to be
I’m not happy when I’m succeeding
and I’m not pretty

Keep your distance
Keep your distance
Keep your distance
From me

I still haven’t figured things out
I doubt that I ever will be
peaceful, coming to terms with that
Makes me feel more free

Keep your distance from me

I used to write of a man lost at sea
Of a mountain man
Of things I’d like to think
I could strive to be

Keep
Keep
Keep your distance from me

I’m drowning on solid ground
Burning and crashing
Surrounded by a thriving town
Burning and crashing
By friends who would never let me down

Keep your distance from me

Please
Oh please
Just give me peace
Covid, losing my job, being comfortable with losing my job, not being comfortable with being comfortable.... it makes a dude write, I guess
