the zoo has an Orangutan

bananas find their way to his hand

visitors say he is content

happy even

but I sense the Orangutan knows the secret of the Universe

I threw him a book of Fermat’s last theorem

his face lit up and looked at me directly in the eyes

a starved mind is not sated by bananas
