Laying It Down
There's a rise in the East
That sets fast in the West
That those in the middle
Happily accept
Where what others say
We eat, sleep, and breath
Giving our souls away
With an insatiable need
Having those in our lives
That we've never met
Hiding inside
All but our regrets
Would we know a righteous voice
If we heard one out loud
Given the choice
Alone in the crowd
Crying out for understanding
Screaming loudly for peace
Not only want it but demand it
With conviction skin deep
With the do as I say
Not as I do attitude
All think they're right
Without a single clue
With the set in the West
That comes back around
As the beast in the East
Lays it all down
