Brass bell
         musical notes
a big nose

hanging
          on a wall
in a hotel room
               over a desk

with a lamp
and
          nondescript
shade

and we are
             far from home
looking out
            a plate glass window

laughing at some
                   joke
inside
          our head
                    
                 or
standing
                      aghast
at nothingness
