It's been forever now
Since my evergreen heart grew wild and free
With budding oaks, and leaves, and lilac strong
With edelweiss glimmering alive in the evening lights
And even the occasional ****
Poking its head up to remind through the matted red coals beneath
It's been forever now
But I hope that it won't always be
