Youth is wasted on the child
That's just the way it goes
At least that's the story told

Why am I just now finding out
If I may be so bold
When did we get so old

Far too many years now to count
Though I can not tell a lie
I can barely count that high

As we all bow down to the sound
With the creaking of old bones
Where once we did but now we don't

More than ever should be aloud
In your mind time is froze
While everything else is letting go

But never let go of the tail
On the dragon they call life
Youth is wasted on the child
