Mascara tears run down my face
Making a mask to hide the pain
My hands cupped as I catch the drops
Overflowing onto my lap
No single tear is ever the same
Swirling patterns, my tears will make
Thick, dark and watery rain
Mascara tears, I cry, painting an emotional scene
Covered in darkness but will soon see the light
When I’m able to wipe away my fright
Maybe it’s not sadness
Maybe it’s just me
Being able to live and set myself free
Mascara tears run down my face
Soon I’ll be able to remove the mask
Showing off my beautiful face
