You may say that I'm a dreamer,
but my dreams are all I have-
if they die, then so do I.
I have to try.

Friends say I'll climb this mountain
just to find it has no peak-
but still I have to know how high.
Still I have to try.

Others say, well most in fact,
that I'm a fool, that dreams will lie-
but they've seen less than they imply.
For them too, I have to try.

I'm a fool, and always have been,
and that's just no way to die-
but even Icarus got to fly.
And so I have to try.
