You are happier than you have ever been. You are home in distant sunsets and pastel horizons. You are safe in the arms of someone else. And, that smile across your face, it tells a million stories I will never be a part of.

Here I am, in the side of a winding road. Consumed marrow-deep. Haunted by the past. Terrified of what lies ahead. Wondering if I will ever stop longing for you.

Do you see an end to this?

Darkness looming. Ghosts rousing. Pangs creeping into the surface. Pangs leaving the depths.

Pangs are all that is left.

Love dies. Love leaves. Love fades.

Pangs are all that will be left.

;

In a world without you, sunsets will ever consume me.
